What's that logo? |
One of our greatest responsibilities in the church is to share the good news of the
gospel of Jesus Christ with unbelievers. The most effective method in
doing this is through a one-on-one relationship. EVERY family member in God's church
family IS expected to share the good news with others. While everyone
is at a different level of spiritual maturity, everyone who has accepted Jesus
as Savior has something they can share with others. Our COG7 logo is designed
to be an aid to help share the gospel message. The seven color coded
bars carry a simple message that anyone can learn and share when someone asks
them "What's that logo?" Everyone is on this journey, with a built-in
desire to reach the gold bar. But we all start at the other end, in the black.
Either as a christian, or an unbeliever, won't you explore with us
the simple version of the seven bars of our logo? Everyone will find themselves
here. |
Return Yes, someday soon Jesus will return for his Church and those that are His will be changed and experience immortality! That's where I want to be. How about you? |
Kingdom God has an incredible heavenly kingdom planned for you and me beyond our wildest dreams. The streets will be paved with gold- there will be no sickness, pain or death. God wants everyone to be there. |
Sin However, we all fall short of His standards, His laws- "All have sinned and come short of the glory of God" the Bible says. We inherit our sinful nature and have no chance through our good works to ever meet God's standards on our own. Our sins will naturally lead to death- not God's eternal kingdom. |
Blood There is good news for you and me. "God so loved the world that He gave His one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish but have eternal life." That is probably the best known verse in the Bible. God's Son, Jesus, came to earth as a baby. He was the only one to live a life without sin. He would die a cruel, horrible death on a cross, not for anything he did, but for the sins of the whole world. Through His blood he paid the price for my sins and yours- ALL of them. |
Clean Jesus didn't just die for us. He rose from the grave and returned to Heaven in power and glory. He offers to cleanse us "whiter than snow", to cast our sins "as far as the east is from the west". It is a free gift that each of us will chose to accept or reject. This gift is truly our salvation and the only opportunity for real change. This gift comes with the power of the Holy Spirit to actually have God live within us. |
Baptism We are then given the opportunity to be baptized into Jesus; into His death, to publicly submit to His ownership of our life, to symbolically have our sins washed away, and to rise with Him in newness of life. It is a step in obedience. |
Growth Jesus won't just leave us a "spiritual baby" but will provide us the ability to grow more like Him by supplying us with His Holy Spirit (for comfort, training, guidance and prayer); His instruction manual (the Bible); and His Church (other believers) for fellowship, training and ministry opportunities. |
Royalty Once we commit our lives to Jesus we are His kids! We are royalty. We have privileges. We are His ambassadors on this earth. He wants us to share His love with others and bring them the good news you have received to them as well. |
